I got a free computer from work but it is a few years old. I used cpu-z to check the motherboard and bios information and this is what i got.
MB: Compaq 06c44
Bios: Compaq 686p0 v2.04 (6/12/2001)
Do you think there are updated versions of this motherboard? I tried looking in Compaq.com but nothing so far except for the bios I already have. I want to put a 200gb hd in it, but at most it reads is 31 gb. I tried using an ATA card that came with my WD 200gb but it still only reads 31gb.
Note: the ATA card came with a WD 200gb hd that i bought a while back. I never used it and right now i'm installing a 200gb Segate drive, using the WD ATA Card. Could that be the problem?
Note2: I haven't installed any OS yet. I'm just checking what the bios reads as the size.
