Do they make Radeons with Dual DVI?

I want my next video card to have it.
I think I remember seeing some Ti4200s that did.

But what about Radeon 9500/9700s

However, I am only certain of dual-DVI for the Radeon VE and Fire GL models.

It's not possible right now with the gaming boards. The reason for this is because, unlike Nvidia, ATI didn't incorporate the necessary funcationality required for two DVI ports into the R300+ (or any radeon) die so extra circuitry is required on the board which drives up costs a lot. I wouldn't bet on seeing it anytime soon either. You're looking at an Nvidia solution.

The Gainward TI4600 is dual DVI.

No to the Radeon 9500/9700.

It appears that the Radeon VE is 1 DVI, 1 VGA, or am I missing something? Maybe there's an alternate 2-DVI model?

Asus also makes a 4200 and a MX440 series Geforce that supports Dual DVI.

Yes with Radeon VE there is Dual DVI if you mean a Dual Display. I have the card which I am barely surviving on since I'm not playing games from the past fe months but this summer I'm going to upgrade. I haven't really tried the dual display system yet since my dad won't let me get the 15 inch monitor from o ur home server and try it

There really isn't a need for it because at Cnet I read about how you can just get another cheap PCI card and use it for a 2nd monitor.

I mean 2 DVI ports for LCD monitors.
The Radeon I have right now has VGA & DVI.



Well perhaps I'll have to search for a Ti4600 or wait for NV31

If I am not mistaken, the ATI Fire GL X1 is a dual DVI based on the R300 core. Anyone want to comment? I am not an expert by any means, but I believe this is it.

I have a Radeon VE at work. While it only has one *EVC* port on the card, it comes with splitters for dual-DVI and dual-VGA connectivity. I would have loved a DVI+VGA splitter, as I only have an LCD+CRT at work. For now, I'm just using VGA on both displays.

Other than very high-end cards (again, see my list), you have the Radeon VE, one GF4MX based card, one GF4 Ti4200 card (not available for sale yet?), and two GF4 Ti4600 cards that give you two DVI ports.

I apologize for being dense but I don't see how one connects two DVI cables to the Radeon VE. Is the dual-DVI splitter shown in the pictures at Neoseeker's review? I can readily see connecting one DVI and one VGA, or two VGA using the DVI-to-VGA dongle on the RVE's DVI port...

They shouldn't be too bad for gaming, although the US$729 price tag (from newegg) makes them less than desirable for the average gaming rig. If you want dual DVI with an option for good 2D quality in analog mode as well, you'll need to consider a Matrox or 3DLabs card. If you are just going to do dual DVI now (as opposed to getting it for your CRTs now, and having it as a future upgrade path, like I'm going to do), I suppose a nvidia-based dual DVI card would suffice, as well.

The Radeon VE in my new Dell at work has only one EVC port on the card that is just a little bit longer than a standard DVI connector (I want to say that there are four more pins on this connector). It came with two splitters, EVC-to-Dual VGA and EVC-to-Dual DVI.

Ok, I follow you now Thanks for the clarification. So is this a part that's found aftermarket, or sort of an OEM part for Dell? Personally, I got a Radeon 7500 for my work system recently (one DVI, one VGA) so I am probably not in the market unless I get some more hours at work and/or a raise, but if there's a source for these, it would be good to know where.

So out of curiosity, why would someone think that the ATI Fire GL X1 (based on the R300) would not perform as well as the standard R300 in 2D/3D gaming. I know it is a workstation GPU, but shouldnt it work BETTER than the PC class card??? I am of limited knowledge on GPUs, so please help me out.
