Do they make non-in-ear-canal earphones anymore?

I'm trying to find a pair of earphones for my bro, but he really dislikes the in-ear-canal earbuds that seem to be really popular these days. So I'm looking for something like the ipod earphones (just sits in the outside part of your ear). Anybody seen/used a good pair?

There's a reason the in-ear phones are popular. They seal out a lot of the outside noise so you can listen to your music at a lower volume, saves your hearing down the road. And the seal creates some really fantastic bass if they're decent quality phones (read: at least $40).

sony makes some cheapies that are like the ipod buds, but better. bestbuy had them a couple years ago when i went there.

They also don't constantly fall out of my ears like normal ear buds.

seriously... I don't know what jack ass was able to cause this entire country over to jamming little pieces of plastic into our ears.

I think they are the second most uncomfortable things ever made. Right after the sand paper underwear lined with fire ants.

I myself prefer in-earcanal headphones, but like I said I'm getting these for my bro and he's pretty particular about the normal earbuds..... I don't think he wants cans, either.

most comfort problem in IEM is because a wrong tip is being used, or your ear is just simply too large or too small... get something with plenty of replaceable tips and try them out.

might want to give livewire or superfreq a try too. I own livewire and they fit nicely.

+whatever to the OP. I hate all these in-ear canal earphones. Sure they stay in better, but now you have all your "internal" sounds amplified. I think it's called microphonics. I've tried clipping the earbud cables to my clothes, etc., but it doesn't help much.

like some mentioned in the other thread, loop the cable over and behind the ear, that will dampen the microphonics drastically.
