I know cars like the Lamborghini LP560 Spider and certain Corvettes (I believe the baby Aston has one too, the V8 Vantage?) have butterfly valves (if thats the right name?) stock that allow the exhaust to not be over bearing during normal driving conditions but when its that time of the day for your lead foot to start itching they can get pretty loud.

I'm wondering if some companies make these aftermarket?

Simply curious, don't know enough about aftermarket exhaust companies to trust results I'm finding on google.

There is an actual aftermarket muffler with a user controllable butterfly valve inside to increase flow & noise exactly as you're describing.... can't remember the manufacturer though.

If you do this make sure you dont go cheap on the install/parts. I know a few people that have similar systems; one of them has had nothing but trouble.

After a few months (and track days) the cutout started to rattle and shake.

My motorcycle has one from the factory.
It causes nothing but issues and robs horsepower down low. Of course it set up based on engine RPM and not throttle position.
