Do they make an adapter to convert SATA power to normal 4 pin power?

Does anyone know if they make an adapter that will convert a sata power connector to a classic 4 pin power connector? I've seen many of the 4 pin to sata but I need the reverse.

I you only need to power a harddrive, SATAs already have the option to use either SATA or molex connectors.

Not all HDD's have both power connections.

Example picture

I've never seen a sata male to molex female connector. If you need more molex buy some molex Y-splitters.

That would be an unusual adapter. Why do you need such a thing?

Here's the deal. I have a friend who just bought a Dell computer with no PATA ports on the motherboard. She wants to install her 320 GB PATA drive. I'm going to add a PCI IDE controller.There is a SATA power connector near the hard drive bracket. I would like to be able to convert that connector from SATA to PATA. Otherwise, I'll need to find a very long 4 pin splitter.

Might be cheaper to sell the PATA drive and buy SATA in that case. If it's an old drive you should encourage her to buy a new one anyway... unless you'd have to install windows on it and move all her files of course...

Actually, she just recently bought the drive before her computer crapped out on her. She bought the Dell computer and then found out there wasn't an IDE port on the motherboard. The drive is one of the nice seagate drives with perpendicular recording. Newegg offered to take it back and give her a SATA drive but they also wanted to charge her $15 in restocking fees and she'd also have to pay to have the drive shipped back. She also has an IDE dvd burner she wants to install so I told her to just buy an IDE controller. We just need to get power to the PATA hard drive and we're set.

Yeah that was a last resort. I ended up telling her to order something very similar along with the PCI IDE controller. Thanks everyone for the input.
