Does anyone know if they make an adapter that will convert a sata power connector to a classic 4 pin power connector? I've seen many of the 4 pin to sata but I need the reverse.

I you only need to power a harddrive, SATAs already have the option to use either SATA or molex connectors.

Here's the deal. I have a friend who just bought a Dell computer with no PATA ports on the motherboard. She wants to install her 320 GB PATA drive. I'm going to add a PCI IDE controller. There is a SATA power connector near the hard drive bracket. I would like to be able to convert that connector from SATA to PATA. Otherwise, I'll need to find a very long 4 pin splitter.

As luck would have it, she apparently entered her credit card number wrong at newegg when buying everything so she can now buy the proper adapter. However, satacables.com seems to be down now![]()

Not all HDD's have both power connections.
Example picture
I've never seen a sata male to molex female connector. If you need more molex buy some molex Y-splitters.
