Symantec Ghost does this. We use it where I work for imaged based installs although I'm just a peon so I don't really know the process for configuring an image.

Most OEM's use the same type of deal to restore a PC back to it's default configuration from the factory. Hidden partition on the hard drive with the compressed image.

Now, if you google around for "Windows USB" or "XP on USB" or "XP live USB", I think you'll find what you're looking for.

But IMO, it's debatable if the methods mentioned are legit or not...

Google it, theres some ways of doing it.
I remember seeing something on a USB setup but it was hard. :(

there's a windows version for unetbootin as well on their page, doesn't that work?

Na thats just a windows version of their program. So you can set up the linux usb stick i in windows. I thought the same thing and was so happy for a second.

is that hp tool the same one that they recommend on the pendrive linux page?
