Do these games work on the 360?

Star wars:KOTOR and KOTOR II?? Yeah i read the wiki, and it says they will work, but the glitches box says there are sound problems and random lag. How bad is this? Anyone played these games on the 360? I thought mass effect was one of the best games ive ever played, awesome story, so i wanna give these a try.

Not sure but those games are VERY different from Mass Effect (at least the PC versions were).

In 1 yes (I haven't played 2). But kabob is correct, the gameplay style in KOTOR is very different from Mass Effect because you queue up actions during battle as opposed to playing real-time.

Another one to check out from BioWare would be Jade Empire, btw.

Yeah, pretty good story, but the PC version at least (I'd assume the 360 version as well) is sort of a "stop action" game. You see a bad guy, everything freezes so you can give commands to your team, everything restarts.

I played KOTOR 1 on my 360 and yes there are some fairly minor issues. It just doesn't run as smooth as on the original xbox. It is still a great game though. If you can pick it up cheap, I would say go for it.

Sounds like you might already have a cheap source for some 'older' 360 games. Assuming you already have a PC (which you just posted from to this forum), check out Hot Deals forums for sales and closeouts. I think I got KOTOR for less than $5 new from gogamer over a year ago (it has expired from my order history). A $5 new PC version trumps a new $20 XBox Classics version which is glitchy on the 360.

While not a real RPG, but a Action-Adventure with RPG elements, I found the KOTOR story quite good. If you can find Bard's Tale or Jade Empire for less than $5, try them as well, although they have a different style of game play.

I played both KOTOR I and II on my 360 and it was OK. I had them for the original XBox and replayed them on my 360 before Mass Effect came out.

Every now and then I would get some stuttering and I had it totally lock up on me once or twice. The games are really good IMO. However, I preferred KOTOR I over II.
