I just got my 2nd HD3870 and put it in crossfire mode and ran 3D Mark 05 to compare the score against my score I got with just a single HD3870. The reults were less than impressive and I am wondering if I am doing soemthing wrong or if this is normal??
First, my setup:
Abit X38 Quad GT
Intel E6750
Ballistix PC6400 2gb
I have the E6750 overclocked to 3.0 and ram at 900
My 3D mark 05 score with "ONE" HIS HD3870 was 18,762
My 3D Mark 05 score with "TWO" HIS HD3870 in CF was 20,245
Thats only a gain of 1423?? The FPS on the two games were within 2 to 3 FPS
I enabled crossfire in CCC but when I click on "identify GPU" it only shows a big "1" but it does have the "crossfire enabled" checked.
When I opend "tech Powerups" GPU-Z it says crossfire is disabled at the bottom.
I do have both cards in the 16x slots but considering my scores I am wondering if I actually have it set up right. I followed the directions for setting up CF from the ATI site, but maybe there is soemthing I am suppose to do that I am unaware of.
Or.... those scores are what they should be and I am just disappointed that they arent higher.
Any ideas???
Please don't tell me to ditch CF and get SLI... thx
