From what I remember, doesn't the 4 in 1 install have multiple 'things' to install (like AGP, IDE, etc)? So all I did was install the IDE busmaster drivers...and nothing else. BUt that didn't work for ya?
The 4.32V doesn't seem to give me that checklist....
I know what you are talking about though, 4.31V gave it to me....
Hmmm well I just ignored the Via setup and just went to Device Manager and clicked update driver and picked the one in the IDEWin2k folder in the 4in1 zip file.
Device manager claims the driver is from Via now rather than Microsoft....
So I guess it worked...sorta?
<< That's the only part I want...I'm having some issues with my DVD Rom...and I'm wondering if newer/different IDE drivers will fix it. >>
and yes the default drivers to seem to work ok for everything else. They autodetected my hard drive in UDMA mode5....
Just wanted to try it....I don't know what's wrong with my DVD ROM.
Intervideo has the demo version of WinDVD that limits you to 5 minutes. You could try that.
Also, some DVD movies have that PC Friendly DVD Player that comes free with them. I know the Matrix has it. I'm sure others do too. You should check and see while you work things out with Intervideo.
