This is all nonsense. Want to solve noise problems? Get yourself a Zalman fan bracket and a 120x38mm fan and hook it up to a fanbus, then aim it over the HS. You'll be golden. Like me.

Thtats one way to go, but then you would have to worry about making everything as quite for it to pay off.
 
I'll just use the Smart Fan I already have. It has a Zalman FanMate already attached, so I can dial it down a bit if necessary, and I think it's pretty powerful at full power. Although 5.4W should be fine, I've been advised still by many not to plug it into the mobo header, so I need a 3- to 4-pin adapter. Anyone have a spare? I'm hoping to find a way to get one by the time the rest of my stuff arrives (Monday or so).
