Do the mouse buttons on the MacBook trackpad act as a 2 button mouse?

It looks like it's only one button, but I'm curious if it can actually serve as both a left and right mouse button, depending on which side you press on.

If it's only one button, how do you emulate a right click? Also, how would you emulate a right click if you loaded windows/linux on the computer?

There's an option for the trackpad that allows you to use a 2 fingertip tap for rightclick. Because of this and two fingerscrolling (just drag two fingertips to scroll), the macbook tracpad is the best in the industry.

By default, Ctrl+Click is a secondary click in both OS X and Windows, assuming you have the BootCamp drivers installed. However, with the BootCamp drivers, you are also able to place two fingers on the trackpad and click the trackpad button to signal a secondary click. You can also use two finger scrolling in Windows. The only thing you cannot do with the trackpad in Windows is tap click, and no, I do not know why.

I love using the Mac trackpad in MacOS. I find myself trying to do the same things on my windows laptop at work. It got so frustrating to me that I had to connect a mouse to it. :(
