Do the drivers for the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical have PS/2 rate built into them?

For the basic Wheel Mouse Optical (2 buttons, 1 wheel, not the one that's slanted with the thumb button) if you connect your mouse to the PS/2 port can you adjust the report rate of the PS/2 port in the drivers?

With my mouseman wheel I can....can you with the basic wheel mouse to?

(I can't use USB becuase it doesn't get along with Linux)
