Do the Bee Gees really Suck?

Analog

While I was typing another post, they came on the radio. Hmmph!

Ahh Ahh Ahh - Staying Alive! (who's the one with the sissy voice???)

A lot of peopel don't know a lot of music that came from the 80's was from the beegees. The knew their name looked bad from the 70's so they produced and wrote songs for a lot of people. They had just as many, if not more, hits in the 80's and 90's as they did in the 70's.

The BeeGees are one of the greatest groups in history.

Nah, they don't suck, but the people who consider themselves "too cool to like something from the 80s" will suggest you're gay for listening to it.

It's called a falsetto register, captain dillweed ! 😛

I think he died last year actually...due to some kind of intestinal blockage. Kind of scary actually because that could happen to anyone, healthy or not 🙁

Anyway, I think Staying Alive will forever be the comedy anthem in movies and TV when some nerdy guy does something studly (i.e.- When a geek gets laid, then the next morning you see him struting out of his house and Staying Alive is playing during the scene.) I think they're actually pretty talented. Didn't they make that song "Funk 49"? That had some great guitar riffs in it 🙂

If you can get past their sort of strange voices, they are really very talented musicians. I believe they have written many songs that have hit the top ten and were sung by other artists, too.

My faves:

Tragedy

Jive Talkin'

😀

They wrote some masterful pop tunes. Whatever happened to the enjoyment of a catchy melody? All this "rap" crap has raised a generation of kidds who don't understand what it means to like music for music, and not for membership into the persona it is packaged for.
