I have the iPhone 4 and my gut feeling is that they dont do anything. Have you used them? Do they really make a difference?

Thanks

If there is an 'conditioning' to be done, iOS will be taking care of it. Apple probably has more expertise on these small mobile batteries than any other organization. To think some random app dev knows more than Apple would be silly IMO.

I would agree, besides all my apple products have had really good battery life. I have not even thought of looking or getting a battery app.

Probably not.

Just drain it completely every few months and you should be good.

Nope. There is no way. They just programmed an app to detect your battery level and when you gave charged it. The rest is just text telling you how to charge your phone.

Apple also has a financial motive to ensure that batteries die as quickly as possible after the warranty period ends. (I'm just stating a fact.) Their customers are so stupidly loyal that it really wouldnt matter what kind of nefarious things they did to ensure batteries dont last any longer than they have to. I've had my ipoop for 7 months and its battery is already at 65-75% of what it was when it was new. In another 6 months I predict it will be below 50% original capicity.

conditioning batteries is not really needed, especially for the small Li-ions in portable devices. When you use Ni-Cad or NiMH, then conditioning can be an issue. However, people seemed to ignore that Li-ion does not really improve from conditioning.
