Do the avatars affect how you visualize posters?

Yes, I always assumed moshquerade to be a hot french redhead too. Not really. No girls use the intraw3b, I know it's RossMAN or some other lifer in disguise.

I really don't think of them that much. I think of people with the one that mwtgg and RossMAN have as suits and business guys, but I don't really have any other preconceptions. I always wanted to see a pic of syringer, just to see what the spiderboy looks like.

That would make this forum super ghetto. Have you seen those forums that allow custom avatars? It's a BIG mess. I like the uniformity with a few minor custom avatars (like for NFS4, Evan, and few others) that we have here.

The mods have enough of a hard time keeping ipod spammers and general asshats out of the forum. We don't need posts taking over FI about whether someone can use a certain avatar or not. That, and having a pre-defined set makes load times slightly faster, because the file size is easier to control.

Depends on the avatar. If it looks like a regular human (i.e. not santa claus or something), then yes. But I don't picture people as cats, snakes, flags, or the like.

Yeah I guess thats true as well.

Except for MadCowDisease who I view as some sort of human/cow hybrid who stomps away at his keyboard with poorly developed hoof hands.
