Do textbooks fit in Priority mail flat rate envelopes?

I have not seen these before, seem like a good deal for shipping textbooks which I have a few of to ship. The texts are pretty small, no big science/math books or anything.
Also, can I just get them for free when shipping at the PO?
Thanks in advance.

Priority mail flat rate envelopes are free. Having them fit textbooks would depend on the size of the text.

It depends. I think the envelopes are made of cardboard, so they won't hold something really thick.

And for your second question, yes, your PO should have a display of some sort with all kinds of USPS-branded materials, free for the taking.

Yeah but shipping a textbook is going to be horrifically expensive cause theyre so heavy. Hence the "flat rate".

Anyway, I just gave it a try, and I managed to squeeze a 500 page large paperback in it. Hardcovers was about 300 pages. And its still gotta be taped hardcore, and I see no way the book is gonna make it without major damage.

Id say go media mail unless its a small text.

I shipped a Bio textbook in an envelope once and the girl said she never recieved it. Still made $80 on it though, so I'm happy. The best part was it was a cancelled book at my school so I didn't pay anything.
