do steam ever have free to play days? need to test COD before buying

I loved the modern warfare series on my xbox and now want them on PC. the treyarch games and newer work well with my 360 controller but iirc the modern warfare games don't.

I don't want to play them online, just the campaign and won't use K+B but need to know if the newish controller support in steam will work well enough

they don't do demos anymore do they?

They have a return policy - you can return any game if you haven't played more than 2 hours.

Steam does have free play days, but it's the devs that decide what and when.
