Do Sony CDRs suck?

I'm using sony "suprema" 32x cdrs (picked up from staples) and I'm not sure if the media sucks or if somethings up with my burner.. I usuall use fuji but the sonys were on sale..My 20x burner reads the cdrs are 12x and for some reason the burns come out kinda sloppy (if you look at the pitts burned into the cd they look a bit blotchy and not the usual smooth lines).. Also, my sony dvd player refuses to play them (plays other CDRs fine) and my cd-rom drive makes a lot of noise when reading them.. So is the media or is my burner messing up? I'll pick up some fujis tomorrow to be positive either way..

Do the cd's work though? Like can they be read? I've used Sony CD-R's before and they worked okay.

Maybe you got a "bad" batch of CDR's freedomsbeat212, I've been using Sony CDR's forever and I'm pleased w/ them.

The dye on Sony CDR's is actually quite good, ive not had problems with them myself, so it might be a bad batch.
