Do some people just not have pit hair?

I have a friend who's 16, matured all over, has hair everywhere else they are, and a really deep voice. But they say they have never grown pit hair before and still don't have it. Do some people just come like this?

I have too much pit hair (TMI, I know). I trim it once a month. I like to keep it about 1/2 - 3/4 inch long. Better than way. Women hate guys with an "AFRO" of armpit hair extending 3-4 feet outside the pit area. 😀
 
i have flowing locks of brown hair under my arms. looks like i have two mullets in headlocks. 😀


just kidding...i have some hair...wait awhile, pretty soon you'll have hair where NO ONE should have hair. come back when you are 18 and then it might be kinda weird.
 
I have only a few strands of pit hair. It almosts looks like I don't have any arm pit hairs. I have no chest or back hairs but I have a slight "happy trail", my legs are hairy and I got some butt-crack hairs. Go figure...😕
 
only 21 now.. not extremely hairy.. but i know i'm gonna be a hairy old man when i grow up. not looknig forward to it
