Do some just like it hot?

I have an AMD 900MHZ Thunderbird and on the warmer days here in jersey Im running around 47-49C. Funny thing is a friend of mine who lives nearby and has the same cooling setup I do(an Alpha heatsink w/ delta fan) on his 1.33Tbird is running between 45-47C. Do some chips of the same brand just run hotter than others? Or do I need to see if my heatsink is on wrong? Any other ideas?
thanks,
-doug

Ambient temps can make a very big difference. I've noticed as big a difference as my temps running 6 degrees cooler when the a.c.'s running versus when it's not on.

2 degree difference on two temps on two locations is acceptable not to mention the accurace of the temp meters. Anyway, you said identical HSF but you never mentioned if you have identical mobo, case and number of case fans. They also affect cooling. 😎

my two 550mhz PIII is 65-70c in the controll rom... no way to cool 'em, thats why i got vapochill for the new machine
