Do some guys make a conscious effort to look like nerds?

I'm not talking about geek chic emo kids. All the time I see guys with white boy fades, but long hair on top, parted sharply on one side, wearing those little round glasses, with bleached denim shorts. Do they look like that on purpose or do their moms dress them? It always puzzles me. Do these guys go home and look at porn and wonder why they can't get girls or are they completely asexual? I don't see how you could look like that without trying.
 
Good question; I don't have an answer.

Of course, I normally get mistaken for an administrator in Housing & Food Services, so I can't really offer any fashion tips.

Well, there is this one guy in one of my classes who seems to wear the same clothes every day, including some visor that's so damned grease-stained you can visibly see it from across the room. :disgust:
