Do some cell phones get better reception than others?

My 2 1/2 year old Nokia was falling apart so I "upgraded" to the Motorola v300. Now I get a lot of dropped calls and cutouts in places in my home that my old cell used to work ok in. I'll probably have to return the v300 and get something else. Is theor a brand or certain model of cell phone that are known to work better than others? They don't make my old Nokia anymore, or I would get that. I have tmobile and I need a phone that gets the best reception.

Also, it's not just a bad v300 because my wife got one at the same time and hers cuts out also in places are old nokias didn't.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Is there a place that you know of that rates phones on reception and is accurate?

The nokia was my first ever cell phone so I just assumed they were all the same when I got the v300.

Thanks again.

yes, in fact all cell phones get different results in terms of reception. In Sprints case, the Samsung A460 was notoriously bad for getting any reception whatsoever, but it was such a nice phone at the time that everyone bought one. That dealt a huge blow to Sprints reputation
