Do some apartments have income caps?

I'm looking for an apartment and found one that's new and looks great but the price is insane. Their website says they have 1 bedroom/ 1 bath starting @ $331/month, but a buddy of mine said it may have an income cap where I make too much to live there, WTF? Or do they charge you more depending on your income?

This isn't in the projects, either.

That's god damn ridiculous. Might be a good thing to know though, the lower the income the more chance of trash living next to you hmmmm...

What is even more shocking is that many, many more apartments have income floors.

Yes, I was looking for a place and stopped by one I found at Rent.com. I sat down to look over details with the lady; when I said I made 40k she said "Oh, you're way overqualified." I was thinking, "Whaaat?!?" I guess it's government subsidized so they set all the limits. Stupid if you ask me; the government messes up everything they put their fingers into.

Yup. Which always amazed me that people would live in squalor only to have ton's o bling, a brand new hummer in the parking lot, and everything. I mean, sure... you're making a $700/mo car payment and shit, but that SHOULD be considered part of your income.

Are you being sarcastic, it's too early for my meter to be functional
