Pubs love Blue guys when they're busting black and brown guys.

Pubs hate Blue guys when they're busting white and orange guys.

Here is the sort of nonsense we have around here
They want the ability to sue the brown people who hurt their feels

Here’s a recent article on just this subject. But it’s longer than a cartoon, so the probability of you availing yourself of a bit of knowledge is nil.

Can't argue with results.

Reality is hitting the Seattle City councils experiment. Not sure if some of them will try to dodge it though.

I'm going to be generous and assume that you dont understand what the defunding the police thing is about.
It not about getting rid of the police, its about not getting the police to do things that are inappropriate for the police to do. So rather than the cops turning up, guns drawn, to deal with someone having a mental health crisis, you'd have people specifically trained to deal with that problem.
Its not to say that in extremis you wouldnt need the police there, its just they shouldnt be the first port of call for that sort of thing.
So you divert funds from the police that are being used ineffectively and inappropriately and divert those funds to appropriate specialists.
You don't need to be generous, or kind, though it is appreciated. I may well be behind the curve on this. A brief search shows that some 20 city's have cut police funding, with that money earmarked for social programs. I couldn't find a single one that was putting mental health workers on the front lines. Several are spending it on affordable housing, food for the poor, access to abortion, with a couple mentioning mental health but no specific plans.
You can bet the farm that the inner city's are going to get the worst of the cuts. Those are the places where police make a difference. Around here all the little gentrified towns have their own police force, and those aren't being cut. The places that already have serious crime problems are cutting police funding, and I think it's a serious mistake. I truly hope I'm wrong.
