Do regular Pentium IIs perform better than Pentium II Xeons in games/applications/etc.?

I've been wanting to experiment with awfully cheap (at pricewatch.com, at least) Pentium II Xeons ($50 for a 450MHz), but I'm starting to wonder if they actually perform better in games and applications than regular Pentium IIs. I'm going to be using dual Pentium IIs (or Xeons), but Xeons are $50 and regulars are $91. Are the regular ones really worth $40 more than the Xeons? Is the performance in the Xeons worse than the regular Pentium IIs? I don't understand why the Xeon (with a larger cache) would cost $40 less than a normal Pentium II..

Actually I believe the Xeon's should peform slightly better. If I remembered correctly, Xeon's cache runs at the same speed as the processor while p2 cache runs at 1/2 the speed. The Xeon's might be cheaper, but getting a dual Xeon motherboard will definately be more expensive than a dual p2 board. But if you can find a cheap xeon board, I would definately go with the xeons.

it'll probably end up costing around the same. Try and get a dual board at e-bay. since it'll be about the same cost, get the xeons.

hans007 said it all.. I realized that getting dual Pentium II Xeons (two CPUs and the motherboard) is just a few bucks more than dual Pentium IIs. So, I guess I'll go with the Xeons..
