y its probably superior to most bottled water which is just slightly treated tap water since its atleast fresh.
if you read any studies on those over priced bottled water companies, its a tad scary. traces of chemicals, bacteria etc. selling tap water like its gold
most those bottled water brands are just owned by coke or pepsi![]()

Um, yeah... that's the same with any type of filter (air filter, water filter, etc).
We change ours when the filter indicator reads full... sometimes sooner. We can tell when it's time to change, the water will have a different taste. Sometimes the taste change happens earlier than the indicator says, and we'll change then rather than wait.

My Brita pitcher has a little LCD indicator that reminds you to change the filter (though it is obviously based on time used, rather than quantity of water filtered), which is handy.

Filtered water is a joke compared to water run through a reverse osmosis system.

Maybe it is - I have no idea - but the fact remains that a Brita or Pur system allows much tastier water for a whopping $20-30, which you can't really say for a reverse osmosis system.

those filters are slow as a$$ though! Its like 1 drop of water every 5 seconds. Takes you a few hours to fill up a quart of water.
We just take it up the a$$ and pay for sparklettes delivery.

well if little filters can turn stream water into drinkable for camping(u find em at any store that sells campin stuff), i think a much larger tap filter works ok.
