Do prisoners eat better than you?

Was reading this article on prison food:

and saw their menu. It looks pretty decent, healthy with good variety.

Having been in Jail I can assure you that no matter what it 'says' they eat; it's actually garbage.

That's federal prison. My cousin who spent a year in Statesville said they had shit that was like hamburger helper. And every Friday was catfish with bones. He's a big time fishermen and cook and called it disgusting.

Yeah when I was in grade school they made the meals sound pretty appealing from the lunch menu too. Then when you got to the lunchroom and saw them, they were always awful.

I'd be interested in seeing what the kids are really served. Not the advertising photos from the menu board. The images are clearly cherry picked to further their agenda.

My daughter sends me angry text all the time about lunch. it's always to small and terrible. last week they had 2 small breadsticks, dip and a apple. She was starving when she got home.

About 80% of the time my kids come home starving and complaining about the lunch.

Michelle obama had a good idea. it just was not thought all the way through. these lunch's are far to small. Combine the issue having athletes and kids who this is the main lunch and it misses the mark.


as for the OP post it may sound good. But i would rather eat like I do and not get ass rapped.

I'm more interested in the picture perfect foreign food(UK notably absent) that I'd be happy to pay real money for. I don't believe for a second these other countries are serving their kids food that Americans would pay $12 for at a hipster cafe.
