I really don't give a rat's ass what people wear as long as its not some messed up clothes that are dirty. All the money I get goes to computer stuff and not clothes. Clothes are expensive. I rather save my money than buy clothes. 25 dollar pants or tshirts are ok with me. I think people look good on the inside and not the outside but people in my classes don't think like me. They can waste their money on clothes while I build a server for a good website and make lots of money.

i think the basic tidiness and effort to look good should be present. presentation is important whichever way you look at it.

I try to dress good, and buy nice clothes. Although it isn't that big of a deal to me.

I don't give a crap.

At work I'm expected to look professional, so it's Golf Shirts and Pressed slacks with the crease running up the front.

But in my off time at home I wear the shame shirt and shorts for about 3 years running now.

I have one pair of jeans that I really like..about 2 years old...(except work) they are all I wear outside. I wear whatevers comfortable I don't give a crap how I look.

The only person I ever try to impress cares about as much how she looks as I do :) We get along quite well

All I dress for is the "clean" appearance.
Except for when I go to church, but that's a different story isn't it :)
I don't mind dressing up once in a while (in clothes that MAKE you wanna wear them).

being in college, i can tell you that $10 pants are not a good idea. Get some decent ones. $30 isn't unreasonable, but $50 is. I basically go with the buy a ton of white tshirts and just wear long sleeved stuff over it. Works quite well. Plus you dont have to buy nice shirts, just get nice longsleeves and polos or something . people say , that you shouldn't be judged by how you look, that they should talk to you first or something, but they aren't gonna talk to you , if you have a nvidia tshirt on, with some yellow shorts.

it varies a bit....

if people consistently walk around in really old and dirty clothes, even at parties, then they should start wearing something else.

I don't care what kinda fashion sense people have really.....I wear almost exclusively Diesel because I 1) think it looks good 2) feels nice to wear and 3) I hate shopping so it's easier to stay with one brand.

I guess I kinda care if other people like how I look but I'm trying my best not to care because I know it's dumb. I guess it'll go away with age.

If you want to find out how people react, dress differently once and then go about your routine day.
You'd be surprised.

I usually try to look nice when I go to work. When I go out I always try to look sexy (red leather pants, white sweater, etc.). Psycho always sports jeans and a polo. Oh yea, he wears Timberline hiking boots.

While at home on the weekends we wear jogging pants, and t-shirt/sweatshirts. :)

Hmmmm its not so much vanity in this case but cleanliness. Wearing the same pair of pants everyday isn't cool. Go buy more pairs. Mail order if its a hard to find size that you dont want to spend time looking for.

do people care? yes.
does it matter? yes, sometimes.

Give you an example. I had an interview to go to, so naturally I dressed up. It was winter here, and I was wearing dress pants, crew neck light sweater, nice sports jacket, long wool overcoat, nice scarf.

Anyway, after the interview, I had some errands to run. One was at the bank. Talk about different treatment! "yes sir, no sir, can we kiss your a$$ sir?" I was 21 at the time. It was unreal. I needed 12 manual cheques (new account, hadn't received the printed ones yet) to give to my landlord for rent. Normally there is some ridiculous charge per cheque because they have to be manually processed. Got them for free. (I know a former bank manager from a different branch, and he confirmed that was unusual.)

Anyway, point is... like it or not, it does matter.

i don't know if it's just me, but once I hit college, I don't give a crap about ANYTHING anymore. hell, if it were't so cold, i'd go to class in my underwear :) but seriously tho, I just tried to look clean in high school. I don't think many people notice what you wear as long as it's not horribly ugly or ragged. If you dress really REALLY nice, that's great! You'll get compliments, but I think the majority of most people won't care as much. But when u get to college, assuming some sort of party school, you'll probably just end up not caring about your hair, clothing, etc. Thats what happened to me...weekly haircuts have gone down to monthly haircuts. I'm wearing my same old shoes that I walk 2-3 miles in everyday in the rain, and jeans that are all ripped and torn at the cuffs. Just too lazy to get new clothes that will just get ruined anyways.

Oh, SWEATS are the best darn piece of clothing I have. If only the pockets were bigger to hold my wallet, phone, and keys...I'd never have to change out of them in the morning.

Sadly, I wear a uniform to school, so I basically have little or no choice of school clothing. Outside of school, I wear stuff like khakis and a fleece. I'm not exactly the "girly" type... I prefer athletic apparel (ie my Reebok DMX running shoes, not platform sneakers) and whatever's comfortable. I'm pretty sure people think I'm weird, but hey, who says I need to conform? Break the mold, I say!
