Well, do they?

My mom says they will not deliver when it's snowing like it is, but I don't know if I believe that.

I'm getting hungry and nobodys home.

I knew this was coming, but I already did call. It's been busy for the past 15 minutes, so I'm not sure if that means they're busy, or they're not even open.

(i usually order online @ Papajohns.com, 2 pizzas for 14.99)

It depends...is it marginally drivable? Then the answer is probably yes. I remember making deliveries in a storm so bad, roads were closed becuase of downed trees everywhere...yet who was still taking orders? The owner. In a similiar situation, the store had lost power one evening. The only thing that worked was the rotating oven (gas), except it didn't rotate, so we had to do this by hand. The phones wouldn't ring, so someone would have to hold a phone and constantly check each line for people trying to call. It was pretty stupid.

You should have said that to begin with.:p

If the roads aren't closed and they have enough people at work I don't see why they wouldn't deliver. You could always keep trying to call or just order online and see if they bring it.

i think i'll wait awhile till they clear up the roads a bit more, and just order online. worst that can happen is they call and say they can't get it here, i guess. :)

It all depends on what the road conditions are like. I work @ Papa Johns delivering pizza. While I don't live in the north, so I don't know company policy is for snow/ice, but I know that my store will deliver through a tropical system until the winds reach 50mph.

The reason the phone are busy is probably because the store has been inundated with calls. Usually during crappy weather, the store will recieve the most orders. Remember, they only have 5 phone lines, so if they have someone on hold on one of those lines, you're just gonna keep on getting a busy signal ;)

I'm well aware of how to make soup, and if I wanted soup, I'd eat it. However, I don't.

the effect of nobody being home has nothing to do with preparing food, as I am quite capable, however I do not have a vehicle of my own to take myself to go GET some food.

Good call. I was hoping someone who worked/works there would reply. I'll probably just order and see what happens. Thanks :)

I am a pizza delivery guy for a small chain called Pizza Brothers in Ohio. General rule for us is that when its level 2...we dont say times and it gets there when it gets there...level 3 is pickup only....depends on whos managing but sometimes we dont have to deliver in level 2 which is nice since I drive a Geo Metro....haha..try driving in like 6-12" of snow in one of those!

I live in Central New York. So it would take a damn blizzard to keep the pizza delivery guy from coming to my house...and a blizzard would only keep him away because the phone lines would be down so he wouldn't be getting any calls! :D

I can't believe no one mentioned this, but...

When you order delivery on days with weather like that, always double (at least) the tip. You're asking these kids to risk their lives to make you comfortable. At least reward them for it. :)

In case anyone forgot - just send the rest of the tip to me. PM me for my address, and don't worry, I'll take this burden for all of the pizza delivery people of the world ;) :D

Not a chance. I'm keeping all the tips for myself. After making about $30 for 3 hours of goofing off in the snow (after I delivered the food, on the way back). Driving a Ford Festiva has never been so much fun!! :)

I know this is a little late reply, but yesterday where I work, we ordered 30 pies to be delivered. The company didnt want the employees to leave in dangerous driving conditions, so they ordered food for us...

The pizza place delivered Pizza & Soda, no problem.

30 pies plus the tip... hmm that's a lot of petty cash.

we actually have an account with the pizza place... they bill our corporate accounts department directly. we send the "signed receipt", and they send the bill.

I hate the people that order a lot of pizza or a high $$$ amount of food and don't tip. I mean..we are cheaper than papa johns on most of prices! ...and people still have the nerve to stiff you with no tip..and you wonder why I get piss at people a lot. Haha~ Whats worse is when someone orders a big $$$ order and then you deliver it to their house to find that their kid NEEDS new clothes...yet they order $50 of food, don't tip, waste money on drugs, and don't properly attire the kid.
