Do Phys. Ed Grades Count for College?

Depends on your school / district policies on how that grade affects your GPA.

Colleges don't care about anything but 3 things for new applicants.... your GPA, AP (college) classes and SAT scores.

So it would suck that your school would pwn your GPA for a non-academic course that you got a B in.

btw, you have a 4.0 and don't know this? I am just gonna assume that you are too busy studying and overlooked this info instead of thinking you're a liar. 🙂

Another question though - Colleges look at the exact courses right? And if they are all like oh...a B in PE...that doesent matter.......

No, if you did less than perfect in PE, they'll want nothing to do with you.😛

You don't have to, I will. Shens.

I could have gone to MIT but I simply could not climb that fricken rope!

Now I work at Walmart. :frown:

I don't know if they do or not, and quite frankly I don't give a damn either way. I suggest for you not to give a damn either.

Yeah, I applied to all sorts of colleges. Perfect SATs, five research papers published by the time I was 15, but my one A- in PE meant that even the community colleges turned me down 🙁

anyone know for sure? Like when I apply to college next year, will this one B in PE mark my 4.0 down?

In many high schools, PE classes count in your GPA. However, they may not count as far as academic awards in your HS are concerned.

And yes, depending on the college, there may be a PE requirement for that specific college.

Why not? Then again, I've never seen a physical ed class in college.

I never heard of anyone ignoring a grade just to preserve your 4.0 Doesn't the whole idea of a 4.0 hinge on getting ALL A's??

PE classes exist at every college, they are just called by the specific activity. Look for golf, tennis, racquetball, etc. Athletes have to get passing grades too.

They factor into your GPA. granted the schools will still review your transcript and see it's just gym, they'll still take notice. It doesn't take much to make an A in gym, you just gotta participate. If you dotn make the grade youre either lazy or unbelievably unathletic

I read the question wrong, as I thought the OP was already in college and looking to take a PE class.

No college is going to ignore a PE class grade on a high school transcript when looking at your GPA. At the same time, a single B isn't going to hurt your GPA too much.

We don't offer classes like that at Bentley.

Then again, we're not a school full of dumbasses.
