Do people really write this stuff?

Okay, so first I'd better give a little background information. I was in the NBA Rookie Of The Year thread and one of the guys who nominated Ben Gordon then said he plays less than 24 minutes a game because he has too many turnovers and his shots don't fall.

So when I came across this and read the first comment below, I was blown away.

These days, AMD is the singlemost important chip maker on the planet, second only to Intel.

How can something be the singlemost important anything if they're second to someone else?

Whoever wrote that should have said "one of the" instead of just "the". Makes no sense the way it's writen.
