Do people not get enough gossip about celebrities?

Do we really need 5 or 6 shows about celebrities? I could care less what happens in their lives. I don't understand how so many people idolize them and must know every single thing happening in their lives. I'd rather watch a re-run of Huell Howser talk about interesting locations in California.

People latch onto celebrity as a way of living vicariously to get out of the dullness of their own lives ... I can't stand those shows either, and for god's sake, if you're going to idolize someone, why not make it someone worthwhile?
