I remember growing up as a kid in the 80s in Texas it was pretty common to see trucks with guns hanging from the back window. I moved from Texas in the early 90s and havent seen this in a long time. Do people still leave guns in the gunrack on display in their trucks or did this stop in the 90s due to theft?

If they put them behind or under the seat, they'd be considered a concealed weapon.

I see it during deer season out in the country.

Other than that, I can't remember the last time.

Around here I see hunters with guns on their rack when heading out to hunt. Otherwise it's just a big "steal me" sign.

Not if it's in a case.... at least not in WA.

It used to be common when I was growing up but now it is just an invitation to have them stolen so most people I know either put them behind the seat or lock them in the toolbox on the bed of the truck.

I just put my rifle on my dashboard. Keeps potential car jackers moving.

...for some reason the cops taze me every time they pull me over though.

I moved to Texas in 1989, and I don't think I've ever seen it except for on ranches or hunting leases.

I don't think it has much to do with theft either. I'm pretty sure sure it's illegal in most cities.

If your... gun rack has a truck on it?

Yo dawg, I heard you like gun racks, so we put a gun rack in your gun rack.

Around here I can't remember the last time I saw a gun rack in anything unless it was used for hunting.

i keep my rifle in my house. when i take it with me camping or such it goes either under the back seat or locked in my tool box. my pistol is by my side everyday, however.

Stacy: Well, don't you want to open your present?
Wayne: If it's a severed head I'm going to be very upset
Stacy: Open it.
Wayne: What is it?
Stacy: It's a gun rack.
Wayne: A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do... with a gun rack?
Stacy: You don't like it? Fine. You know Wayne, if you're not careful, you're going to lose me.
