Ok, I had to do a clean install of windows 98 on an old dell. Pentium 3, 128mb Ram, 10gig HD. I'm going back tomorrow to install component driver: ATI Rage VidCard, Turtle Beach sound card, modem. I was wondering, do i need any chipset drivers? When I choose that option in the T series help on the Dell page, the only thing that comes up is some PCI fix. BTW, she lost her dell recovery/setup disks, so no help there.

You might need a chipset driver, Win98 does contain some of the older chipsets, like 440BX, etc. I'm pretty sure Intel's website would have the drivers there, you just need to know which chipset you have.

Starting spot for chipset drivers. Use left side menu.

Use Everest program to help you find what chipset you have.

I'm leaning towards the 440 chipset series, but may be the i815/810 chipset, all depends on when the computer was purchased.

Most all mobos will do better with a chipset driver - just make sure you install the correct ones.
