+1Yeah, basically no warranty on OEM chips.
'sometimes' if you contact AMD and have a valid invoice, they might replace as a
courtesy. Happened to me with an old Barton 2500+. I think they made me pay a service fee of like $15 but it was well worth it. It never hurts to try.
Just make sure you tell them you are thinking about replacing it with a Sandybridge. 😉

I will know in 2-3 weeks when my motherboard comes back from RMA if I need a new cpu.
I will probably just splurge and go with a new 2500k if that happens though.
