I'd suggest that the Senate should pass ethics rules for the House and vice versa, but then they'd just make backroom deals to lower the standards for each other and claim there is no bias since they didn't pass the rules on themselves.

I'd like to know how the votes were cast. Trey Gowdy just doesn't strike me as someone who would go along with this.

Even if he voted against it, I would argue he failed in his ethical obligations by failing to issue a press release that the ethics committee was considering (or already made) this change.

Based on the above argument, everyone on that committee should be voted out in their next election.

Look at the orators in our republics; as long as they are poor, both state and people can only praise their uprightness; but once they are fattened on the public funds, they conceive a hatred for justice, plan intrigues against the people and attack the democracy.

Shocking that folks who claim to work for all of us are really just following their own self interests. I'm sure there is rationalization full of folly for why this was passed in secret.

Pelosi to her credit said this should be reversed.

The house has control over massive amounts of government money, do you really think these scumbags want to be held accountable for who is wining and dining them in order to get pieces of trillions of dollars?

Lot of politicians say something when in fact they are actually supporting the opposite.

If I recall, Pelosi when she was speaker - a regular airplane was not good enough for her to fly back to Cali. She had to have an Air Force plane, flying especially for her.

Oops, Congress has noticed that we have noticed!

Now let's see if the crooks actually reverse it or just delay until we hopefully forget about it.
