Do Not Remove This Tag!

I just bought a Microsoft Internet Keyboard and there's a sticker attatched to the PS2 cord that reads, "Do Not Remove This Tag!" It's ugly and I really want to cut it off - what should I do?

I guess Billy got confused and thought the keyboard was a mattress.

P.S. Anyone else get a gag response when they hear the word "internet" used as an adjective to describe a keyboard?

Yes, the Microsoft Internet Keyboard goes perfectly with the Microsoft Internet Mouse. Team them both up with an Intel Pentium IV Processor with interNETBURST architecture for a rich, rewarding Internet experience! w00t!

Remove the tag. Just do it!

It's prolly 1 Tag like Matresses have on them 😀...which means to the potential Consumer but once purchased it's their to do as they like! 😛

No, you can't get away that easy! Microsoft now KNOWS you cut the tag off. Bluffing will not work. Your only chance now is to divest yourself of all computerized items in your house (they all report to Microsoft ya know!) and move to Bolivia under an assumed name.

Sorry to break it to you!

with that processor you don't need cable or DSL, it will make your 2400baud modem scream. 😀

Hey! My Microsoft keyboard didn't come with a cord! Was I ripped off.... err... oh wait.... Mine's a cordless...

I had a feeling this thread was a joke. I mean, who needs to ask the advice of others when they cut a tag off something? That just makes no sense.

actually, you don't even need an internet connection, with it.

I cut all them things off, I also cut off all the tags on all the matresses and pillows, annoying bastards they are 😛

I wouldn't remove it if you're using Win XP.

MS has designed the cable so that it can sense the impedence change if the tag is removed. Once this happens, the OS uses one of it's many built-in spyware programs and contacts MS homebase. A team of MSCA's (Microsoft Certified Assassins) will be prompty dispatched to your location and snuff you out.

Gack ick barf..... 😛

brigden If you're really worried then cut it off carefully and tape it to the bottom of your keyboard. Personally I'd just cut it and throw it in the garbage but whatever..... Or just roll it up (around the cable) and tape it so it's not flapping in the wind.

Read what he meant not what he said (typed). He was simply making a point.

Holy ****!!!

After I cut the tag off the cord my keyboard stopped responding! I kid you not. I returned it to Staples, where I purchased it, and asked for an exchange. The sales associate noticed I had removed the tag and proceeded to tell me that he was unable to exchange the keyboard as my actions had broken several Canadian laws. He said my only chance of getting a new keyboard would be to contact Microsoft directly!

Just kidding.
