Ok, I never had the balls to do it, but has anyone ever yanked that memory card out when saving something on a Playstaion (one)???? That message is just begging for it...

I'm pretty sure the game wouldn't save completely or at all. Depending upon the architecture of the memory card, it could fully corrupt the contents (most likely rendering the previous contents useless, but still over-writable). Or, if you do it late enough, it might just well save fine.

I never really gave a flying damn about it.

Yeah I have on my cousins playstation 1 because we were saving a game and yanked it out while saving to keep it from loosing the money we had earned on a racing game that we saved on the memory cartridge. Nothing ever happened to the cartridge.

Corrupt save or I've heard it can mess up the memory card formatting entirely and mess up the whole card.

If there was a sticker on the dash of your car stating "do not attempt to leap from vehicle while it is in motion" would you be tempted to try it, just to see what would happen?

I have seen ppl done this and ended up with a bad memory card, where a couple of the blocks would not save... I assume this is one of the extreme cases, and most of the time the file just wont get saved properly and no damage to the memory card...
