Why do you think there are tons of forums on how to overclock if it doesn't work?

Um .... I am too. I still think he has the IQ of spinach though.

Please don't associate mac users with idiots, they are often much smarter, because they don't just buy what everyone else does but instead do some actual research and find out that a mac is the computer that will best fit their needs.

.....and you're a bitter Mac user.

why are you whining about overclocking???!?!?!

if you dont like it, dont do it... its that simple.... do we care one bit if you dont like overclocking???? We are not going to stop overclocking (if you do) because your opinion is that it is bad....

Honestly, why am i even having to waste time typing this post when i could be playing CS: Source 😉....... You really dont have to tell us that overclocking is bad and that you dont like overclockers............

Mmm, this reminds me of the time when I thought no custom built PC could perform as good as an Alienware system. After much debate, I realized I was wrong and very misinformed.

I personally have noticed big improvements in performance in some games with my older hardware after overclocking. Obviously my new PC is nearly top-of-the-line, so there is no reason to overclock.

slots, why are you so anti-overclock? There is a reason. Did you fail at it and come to your own conclusions that it's a terrible thing, or have you gotten very bad info from somewhere, or a combination of the two?

Funny thing - if you just ignore this kind of poster, they either leave right away, or else they start spamming every forum with statements like "Overclockers suck" and "Intel is teh r0x0rzzz!!#133TTT" etc etc - that leads to an immediate vacation or ban. Problem solved.

Slots, enjoy your time on the forums. It appears that it shall be brief. You can start by insulting the moderators. They just love that.

If you don't want to overclock then don't, but if you truely believe there is no performance gain by overclocking, your either a complete fool, or just plain have no clue as to what you are talking about. If you can run a $150 chip at the same speed and peformance level of a $400 chip, why wouldn't you?

I am thinking about buying a mainboard/processor with underclocking possibilities - if I choose to have a much quiter system, I can do that. And if I want performance, I can overclock it a bit (ok, I can OC the hell out of it 😀 )

This what translates from slot's statements: "DO NOT BUY AMD 64 3800+, BUY 3000+, BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PERFORMANCE GAIN AT ALL"

One good thing today to make me laugh.
