Do NOT miss this movie!

I just came back from seeing a flick called "Requiem for a Dream"...

I'm totally lost for words, but you MUST SEE this movie. I have never been hit so hard from a movie before.

There are no car-chase scenes, no explosions... just reality in a way I have never seen it portrayed before.

The movie is by Darren Aronofsky. He directed a low-budget flick called Pi. That movie kicked-ass also! But it didn't leave me with the feeling that this movie did.

But heed my warning. Do NOT take a date to this movie. Do NOT plan on doing anything except contemplating what you have just seen for the rest of the day. It is that powerful.

I just want to get the word out. They are trying to give the movie an NC-17 rating, and so very few theaters are actually playing it (with no rating).

Also check out the web-site. It may not make much sense until after you see the movie... but the Flash work on the site is top notch!

It's showing at one of our local art houses. It's kinda down the list of stuff to see, cuz the girlfriend is not much for going out to see bummer movies. (i.e. Boys Don't Cry, The Indsider, etc.) We'll rent them, but it makes for a bad date, ya know?

I have been reading reviews all day... I'm trying to figure out how to explain it, but even reading the reviews doesn't help. You have to EXPERIENCE it for yourself..

Oh lord .. I hope e_mc_2 doesn't see this thread ... if he knows that the guy that made Pi has made another movie he will be all fired up to see it as soon as it comes on tape ... he made me watch Pi not once but twice ... was very weird ... and not to my liking ... lets hope we can circumvent this other movie..
