I'm amazed that no one has suggested calling the local health department about this. If it really was some sort of food poisoning, then you really need to call. If a small child got some of what you had, it has the potential to be lethal. Besides, wouldn't it be fun to see them shut down for a few days after a surprise inspection???

The build up could have easily been transferred from an employees hand, mouth, ass onto the food product requiring no further incubation time on the food itself.

I agree, there could indeed be a toxin involved. I was just pointing out that with the time frame involved, there is a pretty good chance it wasn't the KFC at all.

I don't think this is toxin/food poisoning related...I was feeling better by 5PM (after vomiting) whereas a toxin would be harder to get rid of that quick...if it was real food poisoning I'd STILL be sick.

Not necessarily. The aforementioned toxin usually lasts no more than 24 hours, but can be gone even quicker depending on the amount consumed and trips to the bathroom.

msg isn't that bad. besides the allerg that only some people get (from the excessive amount of the amino acid which i believe is naturally occuring ) there's really no othe prroblems afaik

Never mind that it has 15 times the water retention potential of salt?

It is also effective on decreasing the insulin raise of high carb meals as it decreases the sodium/potassium pump, so yes, i would believe that it is indeed a problem, and if you are thinking about the glutamate, it is not an aminoacid, in fact, it is counterproductive as it will not be used as an aminoacid but still block the uptake of that very aminoacid, glutamine, which is a conditionally essential aminoacid...

Let's summarize, increases blood preassure, retains water, disrupts the sodium/potassium pump and hinders the absorbtion of glutamine... ehhh, i would say it IS a problem...

Is this thread really a ploy to make me think about the wings right at lunch time? I think I'm going to go play a little roulette right now with some of those chicken wings....I like to live dangerously.

Actually, if you eat crap, you won't crap a lot.

The American diet is severely lacking in dietary fiber, and thats what ... moves things along.. in your digestive tract.

If you don't go #2 at least once a day, you are going to have problems.

I recently attended a lecture by the Head of the American Dietary Fiber Board (not sure of the exact name) and basically she stated that the ultimate goal to know your fiber intake is at the minimum is: Floaters good.

Ahhh, but i will make this a post to both you and Eli, your points are both valid, but what is lighter than water will float, meaning that your body could not process the food properly, that means the kidneys (which are NOT supposed to handle oils) got a beating...

Keep it up, and then whine about how my high protein intake hurts the kidneys soooo much... it's the fat my friend, it's the monounsaturated fatty acids....

Makes food taste good? /ignore advice

It was does not mean that the food was improperly processed/digested. Fiber intake results in gas and dietary fiber is defined as (for humans) non-digestable polysaccharides.

Not necessarily. I believe it floats because it has been digested properly and contains bubbles of gasses. It shouldn't be sticky and dense.

Actually, polysaccharides are always digestible, otherwise they are refered to as udigestible fibers...

So now you know that, and what i meant was the discoloration that the oils bring, it's floating on top of it all... you know what i mean, like pouring a little bit of gas into a bucket of water...

That was my point, i did not mean to challenge you in any way, sorry if it came out that way...

Once again you are wrong. Dietary fiber is polysaccharides and lignin that are non-digestable by human enzymes. This definition always means that all Food Gums (guar gum, acacia gum, etc) are considered dietary fiber.
