I've used priceline 3 or 4 times... never had a single problem... I did get some weird flight times, but I expected this in having read what is on their site. I was mildly flexible in when I could travel, so no biggie... and I usually did it when they had one of those 'add $50 to your bid' deals so I typically saved 50-100 off what travelocity or expedia were quoting.

No experience at all with their customer service, since I never needed to call em.

I had a similar problem. Had my fly out date different from reqest and I could prove it. Just make sure not to take delivery of the ticket and if they hassle you, contest the charge on the CC.

expect your priceline.com savings to be whatever your +25 coupon is from travelocity.

personally, not having a layover, and being able to select the flight times, negates the $25 savings.

Do you want some cheese with that whine?

I've used priceline dozens of times without problems.

We're not the BBB and I suggest you contact them.

Emulex,

You forgot the other thing. With travelocity you get the FF miles, but not with priceline.

My brother had a nightmare with priceline. He got his tix, but priceline DOUBLE ISSUED them. They gave him a story that they cannot refund them, the airlines told my brother otherwise. After about 1 1/2 months, they finally gave him the money back for their error.

Personally, I am not a fan of them, but in some circumstances they can save you a lot of money. In others, a good shopper can get better flights for the same or a hair more.

I think we will see other sites coming that will show you what you can get the clearance seats for and take the danger of an uneducated bid out of the equation.

No, I DID NOT WANT TO GO BACK A SECOND TIME FOR A 2nd time. THEY FORCED ME TO, they said I COULD not cancel, but only cancel the first one and resubmit, they wouldn't let me just cancel. I made specific notice to what dates I put down and it's flexibility. I said specific dates, Feb 28th and March 4th. And they gave me back on Feb 28th and March 3rd. So I didn't do anything wrong here, but got screwed over. Thanks I'll be going to www.ual.com or www.travelocity.com from now on. Oh well I'll be staying an extra day in Florida I guess, but missing classes on the 4th =(.

PS. SOrry I wanted to post this somwhere, couldn't find a correct forum, I have no idea what lockdown means..

I have to agree--PriceLine sucks.
And no, airlines will NOT let you standby for an earlier flight with PriceLine tickets.

If they give me the date or time that I don't like (time is too late or too early), I never cancle the ticket. But here's what I did instead of cancel:

- Just let everything go as it would and wait until the departure time over for couple days. If they send the ticket to you, don't accept it.
- Call them back and said the airline said I am not on the flight when I showed up with my ID.
- They will give you credit back to your CC. My CC will protect me. This worked for me couple times.

Here is your answer. Don't use the tickets, then contest the charge through your credit card company. They should be able to help you out if you are telling the truth on this.

Priceline is definitely sucks. I tried them once and would never use them again.

Their Airfares are more expansive than my friendly local agent and car rental is same price as with my corporate discount (and most of them time they don't have the car I want, try Enterprise Rent-A-Car for lowest rates).

Sorry, no more rant, I know, this is in the wrong Forum.

i used them once and i knew something would go wrong, so guess what i did?? i used a gift certificate, remember the ones with the mastercard number?? well your right, they dont even let you pick the times, which i know i know is their "policy", but i got the wrong dates too. so i argue pointlessly, and got them to budge to give me the 75 dollar way out, and they said they would take care of it. well, a couple of days later i got the airline ticket....and no charge.

i didnt use it. i should have.
serves them right...priceline sucks.

yes this is not a deal guys, so posting those sarcastic 'nice hot deal' aren't really necessary since you could probably tell by the subject header 'DO NOT DO BUSINESS THROUGH PRICELINE.COM' that there probably won't be a deal in it, a good sign that you shouldn't be clicking on this thread if you wanted a deal.
as for priceline.com, using them is like playing with a half loaded gun, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, you're screwed to hell.

About a year ago I spent an hour or so looking through their site for airfare. I decided I would not use them for airfaire then or ever. They have all rights and no responsibility. I believe you should have more respect for yourself than to submit a travel date/time range and take what they give you. Sounds more like being in the military again. I'd rather pay and have the control and customer service and the right to make changes and even have them put me through on another airline asap if I just miss my flight.

Hi all.
I just ordered tickets through Priceline.com and have a similar situation in which there is no way that i can make the flight that they gave me (incorrect date). For whoever has gotten Priceline .com to even say that yuo can pay the $75 fee to cancel your flight, how did you do it?!?!? I have $500 tickets to Italy that I can't use, and i really can't just say "oh well." Any advice? please respond to the thread, or as email to me personally here
Thanks!!!

Well, since the topic has strayed from "Hot Deals," it might be interesting to see how Priceline has been faring the past year:

03/16/00 Shatner files to sell Priceline stock
"...A trust in Shatner's name filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell 35,000 of the 125,000 shares that the former TV star received in 1998 as compensation from Priceline.com.

...Shatner's Los Angeles office couldn't be reached for comment..."

2-Yr Priceline Stock Chart

12/13/00 Priceline: Shatner won't beam out
"...The New York Post reported Tuesday that Shatner was ending his association with the company, which has seen its stock price plummet from a high of more than $160 per share last year to $2.25 Tuesday.

Priceline has cut jobs, reduced the range of goods and services offered and delayed new programs.

...Shatner did not immediately return a telephone message..."

01/25/01 Sarah Jessica Parker is the new pitchwoman for Priceline
"...Priceline?s stock has fallen dramatically over the last six months as demand slowed for its airline ticket service and the company?s efforts to move into other name-your-own-price markets such as groceries and gasoline failed.

...Shatner?s manager did not return a telephone call seeking comment..."

Pricelines great if you can change your plans around to fit the times. Aka I would never book someone for flights just for a day and back but someone who wanted to spend 6-7 days its great. AKA my moms friends wanted to come here for XMas Break.. Quoted price $600 I got them tickets for $275.. Pretty big savings

Felt like budging in. Never posted on a soon-to-be-locked thread before.

Feel sorry for you Styhg69.
