I recently purchased 2 teac floppy drives from a company called CONSUMER DEPOT. Do not buy anything from these guys. The drives were advertised as new and when i recieved them they had marks where they had already been installed and one had a broken connector. Needless to say neither on worked. And of course they refuse to refund, only in store credit. a__holes!! My credit card company was no help. Maybe, i should close their account also? Anyway, enough bitc_ing, look out for these guys so you dont get stung too. Hope i save someone a bad experience.

Good Lookin Out...
I guess the g00d news 4 u is that floppy drives are @ max $10 each so u only lost $20 from a possible $1000 from other parts...

belongs to off topic.

Consumer Depot is one of the worst companies that I've dealt with. Basically they get a truck full of stuff from other companies... and they sell their basement stuff to us. I have no problem with that, but I just hate how they lie to us.

They have added a condition description to items over the past several months but you still can't trust them. I ordered from them a few weeks ago. Two of the items I ordered appeared to be new but the other two were definitately returns. As mentioned previously, they specialize in items returned to stores for whatever reason, open box, demos and crushed boxed merchandise. It's a gamble whether your stuff will work.

use your credit card company to get the refund
I had a complaint listed about them at resellerratings and so do others

jaylee11,
Why don't you post your bad experiences over at www.resellerratings.com
along with the other negative comments? I have e-mailed Consumer Depot to tell them why we will not buy from them and have linked this thread along with the resellerratings thread to the e-mail.

Don't buy from this company either! They charged me for something that NEVER shipped. They wouldn't refund my money either but AMEX took care of everything for me 😉

Thanks for letting us know..
sorry to hear about your loss, at least it's only floppy drives..
hope you get your money refunded..

Thanks for the heads up, but could you please fill us in why your cc company wasn't any help in getting a charge back? What's your cc company?🙁

Your cc company should honor your challenge as long as you are within the alloted time. If not close that account quick.:disgust:

Dang, that's hella jacked, you should take them to Judge Judy, not to get your money back, but to show the world how JACKED their company is. THat's... I don't know how to say it.. but... JACKED

Thanks for the heads up!
I love sending companies like this a little email asking them about there problems. I don't give them any sources or specifics but at least they know word is getting around that they may have a problem with their customer service. Who knows but maybe with a few emails they will get the message and won't rip-off anyone else for awhile.

Not crapping, cause I heard about somone who bought the firewire card from them when it was $15, and the card was DOA.

I am from the Nashville,TN area, and have bought a few things from these guys before, and never had any problems. I guess it's fine if you walk in there (they do have a B&M location). Some of the stuff they sell is kinda rigged, and some is garbage. I'll definately be more careful when I go there from now on.
