Do not buy a Sony Digital Camera

I have had the DSC-W1 for a week now. Most of the pictures are blurry. I am not the only W1 owner with this problem. Dpreview has lots of other owners complaining. Sonycams.com also has many complaints in their forums. Sony hasn't released any fixes for this. The camera is great looking, but the results just suck. This only seems to be a problem for their new cameras 5mp+.

Should have bought a Canon, huh? Next time..

This thread is to spread the word so others don't make this mistake. Happy shopping.

These pictures are my good ones. Lots of them come out blurry so I delete them. What do you think of the quality for my "good" pictures?

Apparently you're an idiot... You've read all these reviews and then you went and bought a crappy camera? Or was it that you didn't do any research before you bought this crappy camera? Which idiot are you?

Edit: I'm just poking at you... not trying to be offensive

If only I knew of it :(. Cnet gave it an "OK" review as well as other sites. What made me want is was the 2.5" LCD.

Not a fvcking thing wrong with the V1s and 717s, which are selling for bargain prices right now. WTF would anybody choose a W1 anyway? Not to mention, you could just return it, but I still don't understand why anyone would buy one in the first place.

When will people learn that cramming a lens into a TINY camera will always result in poor low light photos.

How is the Canon A95? It's the same price as what I bought this for.
And it doesn't use memory stick. Memory stick pro = $$$$

I have a Son V-1 and it does a good job. I unfortunately purchtased mine right before the S70 came out but oh well, hindsight is 20/20. I have no complaints on the actual camera however.

You already posted pics, you retarded twit. That camera is shooting as good as it's going to, so you probably can't even return it, since it isn't defective. BTW, you shot most your new pictures at 1/8 of a second.

If you do return it, you can replace it with a DSC-V1, which is the same price, and uses the same memory. It FAR surpasses the fvcking Canon these fanbois are tauting, and the specs, reviews and images back that up.

Does the S70 have a flash hot shoe? Does it have 4X optical zoom? Does it have Hologram Focus Assist? Does its focus assist even work worth a damn at all? Does it cost only $300.00? Yeah, great deal there.

first, third and fourth points are really only needed if you take indoor shots. in addition, i would prefer the s60/70's 3.6x, 28mm equiv. lens at wide angle, for my landscape shots.

perhaps he wanted a camera for outdoor photography. that was my main purpose for my s50 purchase last year. i do not experience any issues with the "downfalls" that you point out time and time again of the sx0 series - becuase i dont take any indoor pictures at all. i just dont care for that type of picture.

Not that it can't be the camera, but what is your extent of photography experience.

I hate when people say a certain camera sucks because (to paraphrase) the company didn't include any photography skill in the box.
