Do not burn 4x dvdr media at 6x or 8x

Their quality is not good enough, I have so many coaster it's not even funny.
At first they work great for a few min right but after that it is unreadable.
There a few that I was able to read off but took me like half an hour instead of 10min. 🙁
I only find out after going back to it and trying to read off it using nero cd-dvd speed test.
So much for my bragging about burning them at 8x awhile back. 😀

I have burned many, & i mean many, 4x DVD-/+Rs @ 8x, & even more 8x DVD-/+Rs at 12x or 16x.

I have had maybe a few not work, but considering how many i have sucessfully burned (& then played), i'd say that's normal.

Often burning faster does increase the numbers of errors on a DVD, but with good quality media, it shouldn't be an issue.

My guess is that your media isn't the best, or even close to it.

Is this a fact or an opinion? increasing speed burned does increase errors I think you are just lucky is all. I can see different shaded zones of burned area from inner lightest to outer layer when burning at 6x or 8x.
While at 4x it's just one color this how you can tell too. the different shade of burned zone is bad news.
You maybe able to play them randomly but you will only know if you test it by using nero cd-dvd speed, speed test.
Hell, 100 percent was not readable at 8x and 50 percent at 6x. Yea media I bought is of standard grade that are made for 4x but most people buy low priced media right?

Most people buy high priced media for stuff they want to keep..

Lots of posts here on that subject..just look it up and read.......

high priced?? you mean bagain deals? which is no better then the average media you get at pricewatch or even name brands like maxwell, digital research, imation.
plus they make sure that you can't burn faster then what it is rated otherwise they lose money on their 8x or 16x media as it wouldn't sell but the same is not true for cdr as dvd is higher density and does not tolerate any errors
