Do muslims not belive in birth control / contraception?

halik

Lifer
She had the headskarf and black robe (the whole nine yards) and about 4 or 5 kids including an infant. She was buying the government cheese (heh ... i thought that only was a joke on "in living color") with foodstamps. Which got me thinking, whe the hell do you have 4 or 5 kids, when you obviously cannot afford it... is it a religious thing or something?

More kids = more green from Uncle Sam if you're on welfare. Retarded, but that's the way the gummint works.

Edit: I'm operating under the assumption she was on welfare, considering you said that she was buying stuff with foodstamps.

No religion believes in birth control or contraceptives right?

They all believe in sex after marriage as far as I know...well the 'main' ones anyway I 'think'. 😛

I don't think they do.

I heard that Palestinians have many children.
2 to live a normal life and grow old and support their parents
10 to become suicide bombers for the Intifada😉

Jews don't give a crap about it. I don't think ultra orthodox are supposed to have sex until marriage but after that birth control is fine. (Not positive, but 95% sure)

This is.. perhaps.. one of the most racist posts I've ever read...

yeah, considering at least 90% of the population that follow this religion are really nice people.

A big chunk of protestant denominations are all for birth control.

Islam is a religion, not a race.

Sigh...

Not to get in a pissing contest, but webster defines race as:

a class or kind of people unified by community of interests, habits, or characteristics.

Thanks.

Uncle Sam should just stop giving out welfare after the parents have more than 2 kids...😉

Should limit it to 6-8 weeks as well, imo. It's one of my more right-wing opinions.

Yeah, I know what the dictionary says, I've debated this before. My stance is if someone puts down a religion it should be termed religious bigotry or discrimintation - but not racism. Dictionaries aren't the law of the language by a long shot; most list slang in them, for instance. A few even list kiddie slang like wut, ur, u, ne1, and such.

And as for FredTam's comment, it could hardly be considered discriminatory. Many Muslims have more children than they can afford and would lead better lives with birth control. I saw it as constructive.

yup... remember, the people define the language, not the other way around.

I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest either, but the same could be said about a lot of people in general, not just Muslims. If fredtam had said "I believe in birth control", I would have no problem with this, despite the fact that I consider him a troll. The comment as it stands now just reinforces my opinion.
