Do musicians resing the hook each time?

In the old days, yes.
These days, unless they're singing it live, no. It's cut and pasted.

These days, unless you specify what band you're talking about, it could be either or. There are plenty of bands out there that record different choruses and you can tell they're different takes, and of course there are a ton that just copy and paste.

Michael Bublé did one of his albums where each song was recorded in its entirety instead of just being a cut and paste of different recordings. I liked it. It sounded like there was more passion in the songs.

I'm not sure if other artists do this, but I think the status quo is to cut and paste from different recordings, but I doubt many just copy the same chorus 3 (or however many) times.
