Do multiple DisplayPort connections cause signal delay?

In order to connect my new R9 390 to my monitor, I'll have to use the following series of connections:

R9 390 DP (f) > DP cable 5 meter (m-m) > DP homo-adapter (f-f) > DP-VGA adapter (m-f) > monitor

Will this setup add any noticeable milliseconds of signal delay, or degrade visual quality in any other way?

(I'm running 1600x1200 @85hz @32bpp)

Homo adapter?

No, there will not be any delay. VGA sucks though. Time to move past a 1986 video transport.

Back in 2006 when I looked into buying a new monitor, a lot of people did videos on output lag ("signal delay") to compare the different models. From what I can tell, using multiple connections at once itself does not cause any delay.

Yes VGA can be bad if you don't have a really nice cable. Also, thank goodness everyone finally let CRT's go (as in they are better than LCD's in every way and were birthed by Venus herself). I remember this guy showing off his FW900 19" widescreen Sony CRT monitor in the forums. I bet that thing was fun to lift (it weighed in at 65lbs) xD. using LEDs instead of CCFL is what has made LCDs much better IMO. but now im ranting lol.
