MSI MSI MSI MSI MSI.. :frown:
Well.. I would before this posting, be a happy MSI owner and even suggest friends to buy MSI. This is not a "nagging" situation, but more a desperate time in the life as a new system owner..
I bought a brand new system in parts, so i could put the beast together myself.
XFX GT7900 - 2x 512DDR2-667 HyperX, P5 D805 Dual-core cpu and MSI Neo2-F 945P..
The day i bought the parts, the cpu was supported by MSI and the motherboard. Even the store told me they did a good match.
After having 3 days of lousy lousy OC (2.66 -> 2.70) i checked MSI site and noticed that the status for the supported cpu´s for Neo2-F had changed to "TESTING" and further a few days, they suddenly changed again to "NO" = No support.. Grrrr....
Now.. I build an identical system at a friend of mine, using his older Abit mobo, and succeded in OC at 3400 mhz, FSB 170 and memory clocked to 680mhz.. Ratio 1:1. All by the book. Stabile temps at 34 degrees and voila.. System can pull a lot more yet 🙂
Anyway.. Back to the original (first) system.. I have a now useless mobo for this dedicated cpu D805 which i have no intention in giving away.
If others been having same experience like me, being unlucky to buy the Neo2-F motherboard while it WAS SUPPORTED, then i would like to hear what they actually did.
I plan to get a refund for another motherboard, but here i would like to ask all you guys/girls outthere for some advice and a little help..
What mobo is suggested and eventually a reason why.. MSI told me a BIOS-Upgrade would fix it and one might come, but dear Houston.. We have a NO GO...
Ty in advance and ty for the time..
