maybe not, but it has always alleviated wrist strain for me, so any desktop i've had in the past 8 years has had an ergonomic keyboard
I used an ergonomic for a while and I'm back to a regular keyboard for $10. 😛
No problems so far. I guess one's actual posture is more important than their keyboard design, although a good design can probably help. Meh, I've never had problems so I'm not complaining. Less hours on the computer will probably help more than anything.
I use to get extremely tired from typing with a normal keyboard... but ever since i started using natural keyboards, no more strains! And i type hours on hours a day.
i use MS natural elite kbs for the look and for the comfort. unfortunately i dont have good form, so after a few hours straight my wrists get sore anyway 🙁
Helped me when I was using a laptop's keyboard exclusively. I bought a MSFT Natural Keyboard and plugged it into the laptop and the discomfort in my wrists went away after a couple of weeks.
I need to get one again as this keyboard at work isn't a Natural Keyboard and it seems my wrists are usually angled a bit.
And to people who angle the TOP of the keyboard up more with those little supports underneath...that makes your wrists angle back even MORE. The part of the keyboard at the bottom (by the Space bar) is what should tilt up...keep your wrists more level.
It's not the keyboard. My mom is a secretary and has typed her entire life and has no carpal tunnel syndrome. She has never used an ergonomic keyboard.
I bought the first M$ natl Keyboard as soon as it came out, spent like $75 on it. I never had issues until I stated working here and my boss refused to get me a Natl Keyboard (too expensive at $20 because then the entire company would want one if I got one). Then I had to go to the Dr's and he gave me braces for my wrists. When my boss was fired and I got his job I order myself a Natl Keyboard and all my issues cleared up.
Not a scientific study but the results make sense to me.
